William Paul Obituary

William Joseph (Joe) Paul passed away June 6, 2018, at Flowers Hospital after a week on a ventilator, following transport from Wiregrass Hospital a week earlier.  He was 63.  Graveside services only will be held at the old Geneva Cemetery in downtown Geneva on Saturday, June 9 at 2:00 p.m. near his special grandmother, "Mama Wade" and her husband, Wade Faulkner, the parents of Joe's mother, Jane F. Paul.  Jake Brady will be presiding. Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva will be directing.

Joe was preceded in death by his father Charles Ralph Paul, Sr. and his mother Jane F. Paul, a sister, Martha Jane Finlay (Andy) of Albertville, Alabama [and her daughter Chella Anne Courington of Rochester, Minnesota. ] Joe is survived by sister, Mary Anne P. Durr (John), [and Mary Vicky Logan (Bruce), Lawrence Buel Tipton III (Erin), of Montgomery, and Martha Elrod (Ben) of Nashville, TN] and sister Sarah P. Owen of Montgomery [and Ryan Owen (Esther or Sta) of Gulf Shores, Lindsey Owen Thatcher (Roland) of the Woodlands, TX, Wade Owen of The Woodlands, TX, and Allen Owen of Maine/New Orleans/Alaska]; and two brothers, Charles Ralph (Jake) Paul, Jr., of Geneva, and John Wade Paul (Amy) [and Charlie Paul and Johnnie Paul] of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a host of (great) nieces and (great) nephews.

Joe is survived by his long time girlfriend Marilyn Mayers of Geneva and her family: Dawn Gorham (John), Todd Mayers, of Birmingham, and Bradford Mayers of Fultondale, and Stephanie Mayers of Nashville, TN, and several of Marilyn's grandchildren.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that those so inclined consider contributions to the Geneva High School Scholarship Fund in Memory of William J. Paul.
