Wells Roney Draughon

Wells Roney Draughon, Jr. of Geneva passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025. He was 77. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Wells was born in Bonifay, FL on January 5, 1948, to the late Wells R. Draughon, Sr. and Jessie Armstrong Draughon. He graduated from Geneva High School, Class of 1966. He served in the National Guard from 1969-1973. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences from Troy State University.  

While he performed various computer support and tax services throughout his professional life, he is remembered primarily as a musician, a singer, who performed for decades throughout the Wiregrass area and the Florida panhandle. He suffered a heart attack while performing in Panama City Beach, doing what he loved, surrounded by scores of loyal fans. 

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Thompson of Geneva; son, Jeffrey Wells Draughon of Hartford; brother, John Robert Draughon of Geneva; two step-children, Todd Medley (Pam) of Geneva, and Doug Medley of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren, Allison, Stephen, and Zack Medley; and two great-grandchildren, Stephen and Liam Medley.
