Ruth S. Smith of Westville, FL passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023. She was 74. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Malcolm Sewell officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Mrs. Smith was born in Westville, FL on May 7, 1949, to the late Dan and Ora Mae Hawthorne Sewell. She was a homemaker and an evangelist. Her greatest love was going to church and ministering to people. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Smith; three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by daughter, Lucinda “Cindy” Hudson (Andy) of Westville; Wilfred Wade Smith of Samson; four grandchildren, Brooke Goree (Kevin) of Union City, TN, Zach Johnson (Emily) of Spanish Fort, Chris Smith, Wilfred Tyler Smith (Mikala), Chelsea Lee of Samson; six great-grandchildren, Christopher Cole Smith, Logan Keith Goree, Benelli Grace Smith, Rylee Brooke Smith, Reese Smith, and Liam Kyle Goree; three brothers, Donald Ray Sewell, Malcolm Sewell, Robert Sewell; three sisters, Mary Nell Smith, Mary Lou Miller, and Lucille Hatcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
