Roy Mack Sims

Mr. Roy Mack "Buddy" Sims of Holt, FL, and formerly of Chancellor, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020. He was 80. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Shady Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Donnie Earles, officiating.

Mr. Sims was born in Coffee County, AL on February 13, 1940, to the late Willie and Verdie Lee Davis Sims.  He was Baptized at the County Line Baptist Church in Coffee County at the age of twelve. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a roofer for many years.  He enjoyed playing his guitar and loved to go fishing as his pastime.  He also loved his dog, Dan. He was preceded in death by a son, William Sims.

He is survived by two daughters, Becky Lynn Smith of Andalusia, and Carol Denise Sims of Geneva; son, Michael Sims of Hartford; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Bryant of Holt, FL.
