Myrtle Mullins of Samson passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. She was 85. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Sister Wynese Lolley, officiating. Delivering the eulogy will be Mrs. Mullins’ grandson, Jerry Hysmith. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 18, 2019, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Mullins was born in Geneva County, AL on November 15, 1933, to the late J.D. Roberson and Etta Viola Hill Roberson. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a seamstress for many years in the shirt factory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Mullins; two daughters, Deloris Ann White, and Brenda Barnette; five sisters, Pearlie Paul, Mable Roberson, Laura Jean Bryant, Mattie Chamblee, and Nettie Hudson; and four brothers, Junior Roberson, Hearlon Roberson, Jeff Roberson, and Jerry Robinson.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Norwood and Wanda Billington (Brian); two sons, Donnie Mullins and James Mullins (Elsie); sister, Martha Vandegrift; brother, Eddie Robinson (Inez), all of Samson; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
