Minnie Margaret Aplin of Samson passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. She was 84. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Danny Branch, officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Mrs. Aplin was born in Samson, Alabama on June 18, 1937, to the late Wade and Ela Helms Akridge. She was a graduate of Samson High School, Class of 1955. Mrs. Aplin was a longtime member of New Home Baptist Church. She loved her flower garden, sewing, and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Aplin; and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Aplin (Kerri) of DeFuniak Springs, FL; daughter, Sheila Herring (James) of Wicksburg; and four grandchildren, Ethan and Abby Mackey (Jay), and Zachary and Kaylee Aplin.
