Mary Helen Daughtry of Geneva passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020. She was 78. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Dr. Mike Shirah and Rev. Teddy Ward, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maple Avenue Baptist Church, 1009 W. Maple Ave., Geneva, AL 36340.
Mrs. Daughtry was born in Hartford, AL on September 10, 1941, to the late Harvey E. and Virgie Lee Tate Culverhouse. She was a longtime member of Maple Avenue Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Geneva High School, Class of 1959. Prior to her retirement, she worked at the Geneva County Dept. of Human Resources for many years. Preceding her in death were four brothers, Albert, Ralph, Lamar, and Cleo Culverhouse; and a sister, Faye Byrd.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Daughtry, Sr. of Geneva; son, Bob Daughtry, and wife, Susan of Kathleen, GA; three grandchildren, Brock, Leah, and Brant Daughtry; three sisters, Juanita Dorriety of Geneva, Betty Williams of Troy, and Annette Holland (Chester) of Daleville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
