Mr. Larry Phillips of Samson passed away at Wiregrass Nursing Home on Friday, January 4, 2013. He was 61. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Thorn officiating. Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Phillips was born in Opp, AL on December 29, 1951 to the late Rousie "Red" and Bernice Aplin Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Candice Tisdale Hall.

He is survived by one sister, Judy Tisdale of Samson; one brother, Jerry Phillips (Glenda) of Bay St. Louis, MS; nephew, Justin Tisdale of Samson; niece, Samantha Phillips of Bay St. Louis, MS; two great nephews, Princton Hall of Roanoke, VA, and Nathan Gipson of Bay St. Louis, MS; uncle, Cecil Aplin (Faye) of Ocala, FL, and several cousins.
