Joyce Cox McCollough of Samson passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019. She was 86. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. John Boss officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Mrs. McCollough was born in Decatur, AL on June 11, 1933, to the late RE Cox and Lura Bell Nichols Cox. She was a longtime member of the Samson First Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper in the Okaloosa County School System for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Ray McCollough; and two brothers, Robert T. Cox, and Kenneth Cox.
She is survived by two sons, James Ray McCollough of Samson and Stephen Lamar McCollough (Patricia); two grandchildren, Woodrow Ray McCollough and Bethany Rose Boyd (Samuel), all of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and a brother, William Cox (Linda) of Opelika, AL.
