John Max Hardzog

John Max Hardzog, Jr. of Dothan passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. He was 66. A graveside service will be held on 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Geneva with Dr. Edwin Scott, officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 11:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Mr. Hardzog was born in Dothan on June 6, 1956, to the late John Max Hardzog, Sr. and Ann Johnson Hardzog.  Prior to his retirement, he worked as an electrician for many years. 

He is survived by his sister, Frances Hardzog Barnes of Dothan; two nephews, Phillip C. Barnes, III of Leesburg, GA, and Erick Olin Barnes of San Antonio, TX; two great-nephews and one great-niece.
