Jo Ann (Parker) Hayes

Jo Ann Hayes of Samson passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025. She was 91. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at New Home Baptist Church in Samson with Rev. Bo Newberry and Rev. Lee Ammons, officiating.  She will be laid to rest at the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wade Green, officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Home Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hayes was born in the Piney Grove Community in Samson on December 19, 1933, to the late Theodore and Jewell Parker.  She was a member of New Home Baptist Church for more than seventy-five years.  She faithfully served for many of those years.  She loved the Lord with all her heart.  She was one powerful prayer warrior. 

She was a great mother and granny.  She loved camping in her RV with family and friends.  She worked hard and was full of life.  She loved to laugh and smile.  Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlton Hayes; two brothers, Billy Parker and Brunson Parker; daughter-in-law, Sharon Hayes; and two sons-in-law, Eddie Brewer and Tim Tew.

She is survived by her three children, Martha Ann Tew of Geneva, B.J. Hayes, and Keith Hayes, both of Samson; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
