Mr. Jimmy Ray Powell of Westville passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019, at his home. He was 71. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, in the Chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Wayne Brannon, officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Anna Baptist Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
Mr. Powell was born in Vero Beach, Florida on August 23, 1947, to the late James and Lydia Mae Powell. He enjoyed playing his steel guitar for everyone to hear. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the Holmes County School District for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Olean Brannon Powell; daughter Traci Landers (Jim), all of Westville Fl; Son Andrew Powell (Mariana) of Tallahassee FL; five grandchildren, Jessica Barnhouse (Jamie), Dustin Landers (Destinee), Peter Hogencamp, Elizabeth Powell, and William Powell; and two great grandchildren, Jameson and Jensen Barnhouse.
