Mr. Jerry Chalker of Geneva passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on August 9, 2013. He was 71. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Chalker was born in Geneva County, AL on October 21, 1941 to the late Daniel D. and Lottie Posey Chalker. Mr. Jerry was a firefighter for many years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Gregory Chalker.

He is survived by his life companion , Carolyn J. Golden of Geneva; one granddaughter, Shayla Chalker Odokey of Panama City, FL; one step son, Anthony Cox of Radcliff, United Kingdom; two sisters, Elizabeth Wheeler of Geneva and Sue Brown (David) of Enterprise; two step grandsons, Dan and Donald Melton; two great and two step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
