James Bruhnke Obituary

James W. “Bruno” Bruhnke of Geneva, formerly of Chicago, passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on Saturday, September 7, 2024. He was 72. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Bethania Cemetery in Justice, IL with Dalcamo Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Bruno was born in Chicago, IL on February 1, 1952, to the late, William F. Bruhnke, Jr. and Ruth Vivian Nelson Bruhnke. Everyone in Bridgeport knew Bruno. He was a staple at the local fire stations and at football and basketball games.

He is survived by his brother, William F. Bruhnke, III and his wife, Bok Sun.
