Mr. James Roy “Red” Brackin, a resident of Wiregrass Nursing Home, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018. He was 86. A private interment will be held at Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
Mr. Brackin was born in Geneva County, AL on March 21, 1931, to the late Emon and Alice Russell Brackin. Prior to his retirement he worked as a truck driver for Nabisco. He was preceded in death by two sons, Herbert Michael Brackin and James Mickey Brackin.
He is survived by two daughters, Felicia Harkins of Pensacola, FL and Forcia Tyler of Orlando, FL; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Brackin and wife, Ponell of Montgomery, TX.
