Helen (Herring) Sansom

Helen Sansom of Enterprise passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. She was 62. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Fred Bacher, officiating.  Burial will follow at Earlytown Church of Christ Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Helen was born in Geneva County on February 13, 1962, to the late Arland Lee Herring and Ola Mae Markham Herring.  She was a great cook who hosted family and guests on many occasions.  She was a home health aid, taking care of anyone who needed it.  She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by a son, Courtney Sansom (Brandy) of Dothan; daughter, Ashleigh Zalanka (Brodie) of Mt. Juliet, TN; four grandchildren, Cohley, Raina, and Max Sansom, all of Dothan and Campbell Zalanka of Mt. Juliet, TN; four honorary grandchildren, Nathan Adams, Gabriel Gilley, Logan Gaughan, Cassandra Conell; April Adams of Enterprise; five siblings, Eugene Herring of Daleville, Billy Herring of Kinston, Tony Herring of Dothan, Linda Kapes of Pennsylvania, and Deborah Powell of Enterprise; and numerous nieces and nephews.
