Frances C. Edwards of the Hacoda Community passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. She was 101. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Corner Creek Cemetery with Dr. Charles Lewis officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Victory, 363 Victory Circle, Samson, AL 36477.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Brundidge, AL on January 19, 1921. She worked as a bookkeeper at Cape Canaveral in Florida for many years. She was a longtime member of Samson First Baptist Church. She then worked at Camp Victory for more than forty years. She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, William Henry and Alice Lenora Connell; her husband, Tommy Glenn Edwards; and a son, Kirby Glenn “Ed” Edwards.
She is survived by a son, Jess Edwards and wife, Janice of Hagerstown, MD; daughter, Mary Miller and husband, Jim of Hacoda; six grandchildren, Ronnie Edwards, Dawna Childers, Rachel Edwards, Adam Edwards, Victor Miller, and Bradley Miller; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
