Evelyn L (Shirley) Wood

Evelyn L. Shirley Wood of Westville, FL passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018.  She was 92.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Calvin Sloan officiating.  Burial will follow at Corinth Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Wood was born in Esto, FL on May 22, 1925, to the late Early Vester and Ethel Mae Shirley.  She enjoyed fishing and maintaining her yard.  She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Daniel Wood; sister, Marjorie Mauhili; two brothers, Lavon Shirley and Robert Shirley; son, Ernest Eugene Wood; and a daughter, Nadine Hudson.

She is survived by three sons, James E. Wood (Becky) of Westville; Leroy Wood of Dothan, and Nolan Wood (Paula) of Ponce de Leon, FL; three daughters, Sandra Kay Greene of Tallahassee, FL, Ouida Justice (Bill) of Bonifay, FL, Judy Anderson (Max) of Westville, FL; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty-nine great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Edna Grubbs of Holt, FL, Sara Jacobs (Talmadge) of Wicksburg, and Rose Urquhart (Rudolph) of Powder Springs, GA.
