Mr. J. Evelyon “Eddie” Robinson, Sr. of Kinston passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019. He was 75. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Cliff McWhorter officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Robinson was born in Samson, AL on January 27, 1944, to the late J.D. Roberson and Etta Viola Hill. Prior to his retirement, he worked at Dorsey Trailers for many years. Mr. Robinson enjoyed building things, hunting, and fishing. He was preceded in death by six sisters, Pearlie Paul, Mable Roberson, Laura Jean Bryant, Mattie Chamblee, Nettie Hudson, and Myrtle Mullins; and four brothers, Junior Roberson, Hearlon Roberson, Jeff Roberson, and Jerry Robinson.
He is survived by his wife, Inez Robinson; daughters, Judy Veasey (Michael) of Elba, Lisa Troublefield, and Evelyn McCrummen (Scotty) both of Samson; son, Junior Robinson (Brandy) of Kinston; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Vandegrift of Samson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
