Dorothy Stanton (Knowles) Driggers

Dorothy Clara Stanton Driggers of Samson passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024.  She was 90. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Joel Snell and Rev. Wendell Ard, officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Driggers was born in Geneva County, AL on November 16, 1934, to the late JD Knowles and Annie Melissa Mitchell Knowles.  She was a longtime member at Piney Grove Assembly of God Church.  Prior to her retirement she and her late husband owned and operated S&D Service in Samson.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Stanton; second husband, Grady Driggers; seven siblings, Bernice Mock, Pansey Cardwell, Estelle Simmons, Lillian Lawson, Jerald Knowles, Bobby Knowles, and Sammy Knowles.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Thomas (James) of Samson; two grandchildren, Tina M. Mock of Samson, and Cindy Sachs (Tracy) of Newton; great-granddaughter, Tera Justice (Noah) of Samson; brother, Dwight Knowles of Brundidge; and a sister, Doris Baine of Panama City, FL.
