Derek Nelson Obituary
Derek Nelson of Samson passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021. He was 40. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
Derek was born in Portland, Maine on April 23, 1981, to the late Elizabeth Nelson. He served in the Army National Guard, having been deployed in both Afghanistan and Kuwait. In his pastime, he loved to go fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny Bowman Nelson of Enterprise; brother, Michael Nelson of Maine; sister, Amanda Nelson; very special aunt, Sheila Black of Samson; cousins, Wendy Black, Kevin Black, Wendell Black, and Trey Black; father and mother-in-law, Sonny and Anita Bowman; sister and brother-in-law, Leia and Marty Roberts; sister and brother-in-law, Jason and Ashley Bowman; nephew, Jay and Kayla Roberts; and a niece, Miranda Roberts.
