Charles Stafford Michiels

Charles Stafford Michiels of Chancellor passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.  He was 77. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Charles was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 23, 1948, to the late Stafford and Allie Mae Michiels.  Prior to his retirement, he was a security guard at DSI Security for many years.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Bailey.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Michiels of Chancellor; two daughters, Rebecca Gayle Tatham of Wicksburg and Carol Ann Michiels of Chancellor; son, Joseph Charles Michiels of Tacoma, Washington; nine grandchildren, Aaliyah Gayle Michiels, Christopher Charles Holmes, Kendra Leanne Tatham, Andre Hoaglan, Shelly Hoaglan, Myranda Evans, Heather Hoaglan, Aubrey Michiels, and Jade Michiels, and eleven great grandchildren.
