Mr. Collier R. "Buddy" Mote, Jr. of Geneva passed away at a Dothan hospital on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. He was 73. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Royce Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Mote was born in Tallapoosa County, Ala. on October 4, 1939 to the late Collier Mote, Sr. and Martina Tallent Mote. He served in the US Navy and US Army during the Vietnam War Era. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Ronnie Campbell.

He is survived by two sons, Boyd Mote (Wendy) of Maysville, NC and Eddie Mote (Lori); two grandchildren, Halie Mote and Dylan Mote, all of Dothan; two sisters, Louise Campbell (James) of Geneva and Bobbie Ashworth (Barry) of Goodwater, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
