Mr. Birley B. “Tink” Piland, Jr. of Geneva, Alabama and formerly of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018. He was 86.
Mr. Piland was born in Norfolk, Virginia on October 12, 1931, to the late Birley B. Piland, Sr. and Ellen Huel Piland. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Following his military service, Mr. Piland worked in various fields, eventually becoming a restauranteur. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Lana Clark Piland.
He is survived by his niece, Barbara Dunham; great-nephew, Brandon Dunham; other nieces, Velma Freeman, Latisha Freeman, Deborah Morris, all of Geneva, Alabama, Marilyn Smith of Dothan, Alabama and Gina Blackmon of Geneva; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Clark of Geneva and Peggy Barnes of Westerly, Rhode Island; and a very dear friend, Connie Luby of Arizona.
