Betty Jean (Wise) Harrison

Betty Jean Harrison of Samson passed away at a Dothan hospital on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.  She was 78.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020, at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Elbert Smith officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, directing.

Mrs. Harrison was born in Samson, AL on April 23, 1942, to the late Roland Mack and Caroline Wise.   Prior to her retirement, she was a schoolteacher in the Geneva County School System for many years.  She enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden, and she loved to share the fruits of her labor with her friends and neighbors.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Harrison; and a sister, Odessa Sparks.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Kirkpatrick, and husband, Lewis; three grandchildren, Lewis Calib Kirkpatrick, Callie Michelle Kirkpatrick, and Benjamin Harrison Kirkpatrick, all of Samson; and a sister, Peggy Calhoun of Geneva.
