Barbara J (King) Marshall

Barbara J. Marshall of Samson passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018.  She was 89. The family will hold a memorial service at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Knowles, 518 Grady Morgan Road, Samson, AL on Sunday, April 15, 2018.  They will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Mrs. Marshall was born in Miami, FL on June 28, 1928, to the late Clyde Thomas King, Sr. and Effie Z. Herndon King.  Prior to her retirement, she was a cashier at Scotties Lumber Yard for many years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Marshall; and two sons, Jim Long and John Long; brother, Clyde King, Jr.

She is survived by two daughters, Gladys Knowles (Edwin “Red”) of Samson and Jo Hanley (John) of Marietta, GA; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; brother, Frank King of Summerville, SC; and sister, Joyce Heard of Cocoa Beach, FL.
