Annah Rebekah Thomas passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the age of 86.
Annah was born on January 24, 1940, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Mary Deming Mallett and Louie Herman Humphries. She spent her early childhood in Greenville, Alabama, before relocating to Geneva, Alabama, where she graduated from high school. She later attended Enterprise State Community College, where she graduated with honors.
Annah dedicated many years of service to her community through her work at Fabrics America and Clinton Mills. Following the closure of Clinton Mills, she continued her career with the Geneva County Sheriff’s Department, from which she later retired.
Annah was truly one of a kind. She possessed a quiet wisdom and often kept her thoughts to herself, leaving those around her both intrigued and inspired. She deeply valued lifelong friendships and made it a priority to stay connected with her high school classmates, frequently attending reunions and maintaining those cherished relationships over the years.
She had a generous spirit and a servant’s heart, expressing her love through cooking and baking. Annah found great joy in preparing cakes, cookies, and candies, often sharing them with others simply to brighten their day. One of her greatest joys was hosting Thanksgiving gatherings, with family members from near and far would come together in her Geneva home to share stories, laughter, and cherished memories.
Annah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ruben Carlton “R.C.” Thomas of Geneva, Alabama; her sister, Mary Kathryn “Kitty” Winter of New Orleans, Louisiana; her brothers, William “Bill” Humphries of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Clarence “Bud” Humphries of Little Rock, Arkansas; and a sister-in-law, Willie Pearl Sikes.
She is survived by her sons, Guy (Sarah) Miller of Hartford, Alabama, and Jason (Kimi) Miller of Dothan, Alabama; and two special nieces, Patty (Jim) Winter-Irvine of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Peggy (Larry) Winter-Holmes of New Orleans, Louisiana, whom she lovingly cared for and treated as her own; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hill of Samson.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Cigi (Ricky) Davis of Dothan, Alabama; Loren (Lester) Rodgers of Ponce de Leon, Florida; Bo Shiver of Geneva, Alabama; Andrea (Mickey) Messer of Geneva, Alabama; Kelci (Brandon) Burkett of Dothan, Alabama; and Kailie Miller of Dothan, Alabama; along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
