Anna Ree Barnes of Geneva passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024. She was 92. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Westside United Methodist Church with Pastor Ronald Gillespie officiating. A private burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Hartford, AL on July 22, 1932, to the late Ree and Tina Robinson Mauldin. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the USPS for many years. She also worked at Wiregrass Medical Center. She was a member of Westside United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold David “Dock” Barnes, Sr,; daughter, Cynthia Bodiford; and all seven of her siblings.
She is survived by her son, David Barnes of Geneva; daughter, Vickie Barnes of Ozark; grandson, Bradley Bodiford (Katie) of Jacksonville, FL two great grandchildren, Brendan Bodiford and Clara Bodiford; and her son-in-law, John Bodiford (Mary Anne) of Opelika.
