Alice Madelean (Jones) Cassady

Alice Madelean Cassady of Samson passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023. She was 95. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at New Home Baptist Church with Rev. Steve White officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Home Baptist Church Benevolence Fund. 

Mrs. Cassady was born in Sellersville, AL on July 26, 1928, to the late Henry Jackson Jones and Alma Woodall Jones.  She was a longtime member of New Home Baptist Church.  Prior to her retirement, she worked in the shirt factory for many years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Cassady; daughter: Patricia “Pat” Weeks, grandson, Wetzel Weeks; and eleven of her siblings.

She is survived by two daughters, Alethea Gilmore of Alabaster, Al  and Cynthia Bradshaw (Lomax) of Jack, AL; six grandchildren, Rhonda Mullins of Andalusia, Carrie Spinks (Rusty) of Kinston, Al, Jennifer Wood (Lance) of Goodman, Al, Jonathan Wright (Tonya) of Samson, Al , Carrie Tevis (Mark) of  San Antiono, TX and Joy Smith (Jermey) of Hartselle, Al; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Delana Thornton of Tallahassee, FL.
