Roger Arland Herring

Mr. Roger Arland Herring of the Hacoda Community passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019.  He was 63.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Tom Kapes officiating.  Burial will follow at Earlytown Church of Christ Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.  

Mr. Herring was born in Samson, AL to the late Arland Lee Herring and Ola Mae Markham Herring.  He served in the US Army and retired from the Alabama National Guard.  He worked as a diesel mechanic for many years.  He was preceded in death his brother, Thomas Coleman; and two sisters, Peggy Joyce Adams and Arlene Benefield.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Sara Jean Herring; two sons, Whitney Lee Herring and David Arland Herring, all of Hacoda; three brothers, Tony Herring (Sheila) of Wicksburg, Billy Joe Herring of Kinston, and Eugene Herring of Daleville; three sisters, Helen Sansom, Debbie Powell both of Enterprise, and Linda Kapes (Tom) of Kinston.
