Peggy (Williams) Alberson

Peggy “MeMe” Alberson of Hartford went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 7, 2018. She was 91.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Tommy Cumbie, officiating.  Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, directing.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Alberson was born in Geneva County, AL on April 8, 1927, to the late Everett and Alma Cross Williams.  She was a longtime member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and a friend to many. Prior to her retirement, she worked at the shirt factory for many years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe H. Alberson; an infant daughter, Alma Sue Alberson; brother, Dolphus Williams; and two sisters, Julia Clark, and Louise Glover.

She is survived by two sons, Billy Joe Alberson (Barbara) of Enterprise and Harold Alberson of Chancellor; four grandchildren, David Alberson of Wicksburg, Storie Atkins (Mark) of Midland, GA, Tonya Strahan of Enterprise, and Vanessa Reid (Jim) of Watkinsville, GA; six great-grandchildren, Halle Alberson Derrick of Jacksonville, NC, Marley and Lane Strahan of Enterprise, Sophia Atkins of Midland, GA, Hailey Hunter and Courtney Ariola (Cody), both of Watkinsville, GA; and great-great-granddaughter, Bella Mingledorff. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Hartford Retirement Village, Enterprise Nursing Home and Kindred Hospice for their kind care and compassion.
