Gerald D. Tice

Mr. Gerald D. Tice of Geneva passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019.  He was 82.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with the Elder William M. Hendrix, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, directing.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Mr. Tice was born in Pinckard, AL on March 19, 1937, to the late Bishop Marvin Tice and Bernice Baucum Tice.  He was a graduate of Geneva High School, Class of 1956.  Prior to his retirement, Mr. Tice worked was a maintenance supervisor in the textile industry.  He later worked for Pemco World Air Services for many years.  Following his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and tending to his pecan orchard.  He loved his pets, grandchildren, and being on his tractors.  He was preceded in death by six sisters, Merle Hendrix Brown, Irene Lister, Lois Wheeler, Robbie Wilson, Jane Materna, and Polly Pettit; and two brothers, Bill Tice and Jim Tice.

He is survived by his wife Jane Sullivan Tice of Geneva; three sons, Steven Tice (Paula) of Headland, David Tice (Heather), of Dothan, and Joe Tice (Jennie) of Titus, AL; step-son, Scott Hickman (Stephanie) of Tuscaloosa; step-daughter, Melissa Herman (Mark) of Huntsville; grandchildren, Will and Baker Hickman of Tuscaloosa, Harrison Tice of Dothan, and Paige Herman of Huntsville; and three brothers, Jerry Tice, Tommy Tice, and Dale Tice.
