George Marie (May) Brown

George Marie Brown of Abbeville, AL and formerly of Geneva passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019.  She was 80. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Belcher officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 18, 2019, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.

Mrs. Brown was born in Chancellor on April 20, 1939, to the late George and Annie Clara Gilmore May.  She graduated from Coffee Springs High School, Class of 1958.  Before her retirement, she worked at Phillips Van Heusen in Geneva for more than twenty-five years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Jerry Chancellor.

She loved her family and will be greatly missed.  She is survived by two sons, Parker Brown (Beverly) of Eufaula, and Markley Brown (Raina) of Marianna, FL; four grandchildren, Bradley Moore, Kaylie Brown, Aaryn Brown, and Ashtyn Brown; two great-great-grandchildren; niece, Sheila Chancellor; and a nephew, Bruce Chancellor.
