Edna Mae Clemmons Cowan of Geneva went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. She was 83. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jake Brady, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 304 S. Academy St. Geneva, AL 36340.
Mrs. Cowan was born in Holmes County, FL on February 18, 1934, to the late J.C. and Versie Pearl Royals Clemmons. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Geneva High School, Class of 1952, and she thoroughly enjoyed homecoming and her class reunions. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie “Sonny” Cowan.
She is survived by four cousins, Paul Royals, and wife, Judy, Frances McBride, all of Geneva, Susan Scroggins Miller, and husband, Carl of Port Charlotte, FL, and Wilmer Crews and wife, Jill of Geneva; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Sue Pascher of Destin, FL, and Mary Lou Cowan of Blakely, GA; and nephew, Andy Cowan.
