Brian K Powell

Mr. Brian K. Powell of Geneva passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.  He was 62. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Barnes, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. Powell was born in Ft. Rucker on December 17, 1955, to Lizzie Mae Powell and the late Hershel D. Powell, Jr.  He graduated from Samson High School, Class of 1974.  He served his country in the US Navy.  He later received a B.S. in Education from Troy State University.  He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel D. Powell, Jr.; and his first wife, Norma Floyd Powell.

He is survived by his wife, Celisa Powell of Geneva; son, Brandon Powell of Dothan; mother, Lizzie Mae Powell of Samson; two brothers, Hershel D. Powell, lll (Robin) of Dothan and Craig Powell of Samson; and a niece, Sara Dowling of Samson.
