SSG, Alver W. Bryan (USA, Ret.) of Panama City, FL and formerly of Enterprise, AL passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was 88. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Steve Skidmore, officiating. A private interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Mr. Bryan was born in Geneva County, AL on February 22, 1929, to the late Eddlow and Emma Davis Bryan. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Bryan Cabinet Shop in Enterprise for more than twenty years. He later moved to the beach where he worked as a boat captain for many years. He was a longtime member of the Shriners. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Nell Bryan; daughter, Kathy Bryan Bunnell; brother, Edgar Bryan; and three sisters, Tera Nell Aman, Esther Jordan, and Joyce Ann Bryan.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Jones (Gary) of Freeport, FL; grandson, Stephen C. Bunnell of Jacksonville, FL; and a brother, Howard Bryan of Geneva.
