Karen Julia Barrow Smith of Newton passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 11, 2017.  She was 66.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Brother Ricky Powell, officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. 

Mrs. Smith was born in Georgia on November 23, 1950, to the late Edward and Julia Barrow.  She was a member of Trinity Church.  Her faith was a very important part of her life.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald W. Smith; and a brother, Ernest Barrow.

She is survived by four sons, Daniel Smith (Nickie) of Dothan, and Tim Cramer of Newton, Terry Smith of Crestview, FL, and Devin Smith of Panama City, FL; six grandchildren, Kyler Smith, Trevor Harris, Taylor Edwards, LeAndra Smith, Sierra Smith and Jordan Smith; two brothers, Russell Barrow of Montgomery, AL and Robert Barrow; and sister, Cindee Droge (Jim) of Las Vegas, NV.
